From Hollywood to Corporate America, Wall Street to Washington, in 2011, to be environmentally conscious is to be debonair, thoughtful, intelligent and brave. Green is the new modern gentleman, and you needn’t grow dreadlocks, toss the deodorant or sing Kumbaya to be included among the eco-cool.

Russian play write Anton Chekov once said, “Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.” We know that green is the new modern gentleman. If you do nothing else, turn off your lights, familiarize yourself with the recycling process, and know that the trashcan overflowing with paper coffee cups isn’t a fixed part of society. We can do something to change it, and more importantly, a gentleman will, because to care about Mother Earth is to exhibit the qualities of gentlemanliness that extend back to… antiquity.
